Job Title: Healthcare Quality Improvement Specialist/Auditor

Location: Houston and all-around Texas

Travel Required: Yes, travel to clinic locations around Texas

Department: Operations / Quality Assurance

Job Type: Part Time (Potential to become Full Time (24-32 hours per week) in the future)

Salary Range: $28 - $32 per hour

Schedule: 6-8-hour shifts / Monday – Friday 

Work Location: Hybrid

Position Overview:

Health Grades Analytics is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Operations Auditor / Quality Improvement Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of operational workflows across our healthcare data analytics functions. The ideal candidate will need to have a strong eye for detail, process improvement experience, and a passion for ensuring the highest standards in operational performance and data integrity. This is a Houston area position and candidate will need to be available to travel to all clinics around Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular audits of clinic operations, documentation, and workflows to ensure compliance with internal standards, client expectations, and healthcare regulations.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews on healthcare data, reports, and operational outputs to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to audit datasets, track quality metrics, and develop reporting tools.
  • Review and validate the accuracy of healthcare data, documentation, and reporting outputs.
  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, or discrepancies and collaborate with clinic teams on corrective actions.
  • Prepare clear and actionable audit reports and QA documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing and refining SOPs, audit checklists, and QA protocols.
  • Participate in internal reviews, risk assessments, and support external compliance audits.
  • Travel to clinic sites across Texas for on-site reviews and support (mileage/travel reimbursement provided).
  • Support internal and external compliance audits, including preparation of required documentation.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience in operations auditing, quality assurance, or healthcare analytics.
  • Advanced Excel skills are a must: including but not limited to pivot tables, nested formulas, lookups (VLOOKUP/LOOKUP), power Query, and data visualization.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data systems, claims data, EHRs, or clinical documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel, audit tools, and/or QA software platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Onsite: 2+ days a week in clinic.

 

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of HIPAA, guidelines, or other healthcare regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with Athena, ECW and Epic
  • Prior experience in a healthcare analytics or data quality-focused environment.
