Physical Education Teacher – York Elementary & York High School
(Coaching Opportunities Available)
York Public Schools is accepting applications for a Physical Education Teacher who will split their time between York Elementary School and York High School . We are seeking a dynamic, energetic educator who is passionate about promoting fitness, wellness, and lifelong healthy habits in students of all ages.
Position Details:
- Full-time, certified teaching position
- Split assignment between elementary and high school levels
- Start Date: August 2026

Responsibilities Include:
- Planning and delivering engaging physical education lessons for elementary and high school students
- Promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and positive sportsmanship
- Organizing and supervising activities, intramurals, or special events
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and other staff to support student wellness
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring a safe learning environment
Coaching Opportunities Available:
- Head Boys Basketball
- Assistant Cross Country
Qualifications:
- Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate (or ability to obtain) with Physical Education endorsement
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Ability to engage and motivate students across a wide age range
- Coaching experience preferred but not required
