Job Description

Advanced Systems Design is seeking an  Advanced Systems Administrator for our client located in Tallahassee, FL

This position is on-site in Tallahassee, FL, and requires in-person availability starting day 1.

Job Overview:

On an ongoing basis, the Systems Administrator will directly report to the Distributed Computer Systems Administrator, the designated contract manager. The Systems Administrator will play a key role in supporting the organization's Application Modernization (AppMod) initiative. Primary responsibilities include provisioning Entra ID accounts, configuring environments, consulting on architecture decisions, and establishing security groups within Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform. Additional duties encompass monitoring and maintaining critical services such as SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Intune, Azure OpenAI, and other AI-related platforms. The System Administrator is expected to uphold the security, integrity, availability, and performance of all Microsoft 365 (M365) services, while delivering technical support and strategic guidance to end-users and IT stakeholders.

General System Administrator Tasks:

The Contractor shall perform systems administration tasks as directed by the Department’s Contract Manager, which may include – but are not limited to – the duties outlined in the task list below. All assigned tasks are expected to be completed within the specified response time and on-site during standard office hours (unless after-hours work for changes/deployments is required and approved). The contracted Systems Administrator will collaborate closely with IT Staff to carry out the following general responsibilities:

  • Provisioning and configuring development, test, and production environments.
  • Setting up security roles and user permissions.
  • Environment provisioning and naming conventions.
  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies across environments.
  • Integration with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and external systems.
  • Scheduled maintenance plans (patching, backups, and performance tuning).
  • Monitoring system health and usage metrics.Setting up Power BI dashboards to proactively monitor health and usage of the environment.
  • Power Automate flows for admin tasks (e.g., license cleanup, alerts).
  • Configuring business process flows and approval workflows.
  • Automating tasks using Power Automate within Dynamics 365.
  • Data governance policies (retention, access control, compliance)
  • Role-based access control and audit trail configuration.
  • Role-based access in Dataverse and Power Apps.
  • Integration with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) for identity management.
  • Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) strategy using GitHub or Azure DevOps.
  • Admin guides for environment setup and feature management.
  • Training materials for end users and support teams.
  • Power BI dashboards showing team workload and automation impact.
  • Manage Azure Entra ID and Enterprise Applications registrations.
  • Provision and manage Azure App Services, Function Apps, and Logic Apps.
  • Provision and manage Azure storage accounts.
  • Monitor Azure Consumption to prevent over usage.
  • Assist with Virtual Machine provisioning, migration, and configuration in Azure.
  • Deploy and management of Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, or other AI Services.
  • Configure, maintain, and monitor servers, networks, and databases.
  • Work with IT Development teams on the utilization of Azure Development tools, including but not limited to Service Bus, Key Vault, API Management.
  • Manage, support, and configure Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Document system configuration, changes, and issue resolutions.
  • Assist with the development of Azure hosting cost estimates.
  • Perform other tasks as determined by the Department’s Contract Manager

  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Policy Documentation.
  • Audit Logs and Compliance Reports for User Activity and Data Access.
  • Security Configuration Baselines for Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dynamics 365.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Configurations Using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Solution Deployment Script and Managed Solution Packages.
  • ALM Strategy Documentation Including Versioning, Rollback, and Release Notes.
  • Custom Connector Specifications and API Integration Guides.
  • Power Platform Usage Dashboards and Health Analytics.
  • CoE Strategy Plan Including Governance Models and Adoption Metrics.
  • Knowledge Base Articles.
  • Reuseable Templates and Components for Power Apps and Flows.

Required Qualifications:

The Systems Administrator must possess the following qualifications with 7 years of experience minimum per qualification (unless otherwise stated below):

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or Engineering.
  • Managing enterprise-scale environments and automation.
  • Experience in implementing and managing Azure.
  • Expertise in Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) deployment.
  • Advanced governance using Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and environment strategies.
  • Integration with Azure services, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365.
  • Automation of admin tasks using PowerShell, Power Automate, and APIs.
  • ALM strategy using Github or Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Disaster Recovery and Backup Strategies for Power Platform Environments.
  • Power Platform administration and governance.
  • Role-based access control and audit trail configuration.
  • Azure Integration Blueprints (e.g., Logic Apps, Data Lake, Snowflake, Application Insights ( may be less than 7 years )
  • Work experience with State of Florida IT Projects. ( may be less than 7 years )
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.
  • Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
