We are seeking a distinguished visual tastemaker and product design leader who will shape the aesthetic and interactive quality of Fire TV and Tablet interfaces. This role demands someone who consistently produces industry-leading visual work for these device requirements, sets new standards for interface beauty, and elevates the overall design craft while deeply understanding the full stack of interaction design (IxD) and IxD principles - from micro-interactions to complex user flows. The ideal candidate must have an exceptional eye for visual sophistication and the ability to translate that into usable and desirable digital experiences. The ideal candidate must be equally comfortable designing alongside their team as they are directing them. This role requires someone who can drive rapid iteration cycles, make quick yet informed design decisions, and pivot based on learnings. This candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment where speed of execution is as crucial as design excellence.

Key job responsibilities
- Actively design and craft high-impact features and experiences (e.g., create storyboards, wireframes, visual mockups, click-throughs, and prototypes)
- Define and evolve our visual language through hands-on creation of UI components, patterns, and systems
- Lead or participate in quick and iterative user research for ideation and concept refinement
- Lead end-to-end design process from conceptual exploration to detailed interaction specifications
- Drive visual excellence while ensuring robust interaction models across platforms
- Provide creative direction that elevates team output while maintaining active individual contribution
- Balance creative leadership duties with significant hands-on design time

They must be passionate about crafting visual experiences using our design system and create new aspects as needed, ensuring systems work flawlessly across complex user journeys. The ideal candidate thrives on being hands-on with design tools daily, not just directing from afar.
About the team
The Foundations team is part of Devices and Services Design. As a digital design craft team, we are mighty, strategic doers and hold the design quality bar high. Our concern is the art of creating high-quality outcomes for our customers and Design. We learn by generating and externalizing design intent. We combine creativity with technical mastery, while pushing the boundaries to inspire, provoke, and solution. We require keen attention to detail and design intent with a deep understanding of design and mathematical principles, methods and tools. We have a commitment to excellence that elevates a design from functional to exceptional to storied.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years in designing complex consumer-facing digital products and experiences
- 5+ years as a lead/senior creative contributor, or creative director
- Expert-level proficiency in design tools (e.g., Figma, Protopie, Rive, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Track record of shipping consumer products that showcase design excellence
- Experience leading and inspiring design teams while maintaining individual creative output
- Experience leading projects in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team including designers, hardware engineers, writers, product managers and software developers
- Portfolio demonstrating industry-leading visual and interaction design work with proven business impact
