Job Summary

 

The Production Assistant will schedule production. In addition, will verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Implement the daily/weekly production schedule through communication and follow-up with process leads
  • Assist in planning and communicating project related information
  • Interface with all facets of the operation: manufacturing, sales, safety, customers and other related personnel in and out of the company
  • Promote awareness for safety programs/initiatives
  • Monitor key performance indicators; explain variances and change
  • Investigate and recommend improvements including tracking improvements
  • Respond to sales and manufacturing teams needs
  • Compare bill of materials quantities with actual quantities and update as needed

  • Operate forklifts to stack and retrieve supplies and materials
  • Document and maintain inventory and ensuring production area organization and cleanliness
  • Receive, unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  • Submit purchase requisitions to replenish inventory stocks and other production material needs.

  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Retrieve finished goods from inventory and stages shipments
  • Review UKG timecards and vacations for accurate production scheduling
  • Review incoming invoices and resolve discrepancies or issues for AP
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

 

Job Requirements

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read / write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Training and/or forklift experience necessary
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs
