The strategic finance and analytics team is at the core of our mission. We focus on driving meaningful impact on the overall trajectory of guest and host growth through close partnership on, and supporting the business with, financial analysis, impact assessment, performance measurement and insights and reporting of large-scale initiatives.

The Difference You Will Make:

As we expand our business, we are looking for someone who is thoughtful, creative and passionate to lead the finance partnership with the North America Global Markets team. We seek a strong leader who can analyze a variety of business problems and influence teams including Business Operations, Product, Data Science, Research, Marketing and Eng, to drive concrete business outcomes for the region. This is a unique opportunity to partner with these world-class teams on growth, planning, and strategy on a day-to-day basis. You will lead through performance measurement and transform learnings into actionable insights to spur growth in North America.

A Typical Day:

• Partner with the business in driving performance management, including development and ongoing analysis of KPIs, creating goals/OKRs, and measuring performance.
• Develop a deep understanding of which levers drive growth and efficiency for our business and translate that understanding into tangible improvements.
• Support strategy discussions on allocation of resources across the region and different functions. Help consolidate a regional perspective that can be leveraged by cross functional teams
• Develop and maintain reporting and analytical frameworks to support our key processes and decision-making cadences such as annual strategic planning and long-range planning.
• Partner in the development of rigorous business plans and go-to-market strategy. Develop a deep understanding of what drives growth and efficiency for Airbnb's business, and partner with the leadership team to translate insights into action.
• Identify step-change opportunities by partnering with operating teams to identify areas of outsized impact through quantitative analysis, industry benchmarks, and competitive research, and coalesce into actionable strategies.
• Be the subject matter expert on key trends and market dynamics for the North America business. Deaverage problems to get at granular issues and work with partners to arrive at novel solutions
• Analytical deep dives: Conduct deep dives into business trends across the United States and Canada and different segments of the business. Independently lead data extraction, analysis, visualization, and presentation.
• Build ad hoc reporting to help business operations and other cross functional partners understand the drivers of performance for key performance indicators

Your Expertise:

• 10+ years of relevant experience. Ideally, you have demonstrated relevant experience in an analytical role such as strategic finance, strategy/management consulting, investment banking, financial planning and analytics, banking or private equity.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, accounting, engineering, statistics or other relevant field that demonstrates quantitative orientation; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
• Superb financial modeling skills and extensive experience conducting quantitative and qualitative financial analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL or some other querying language and using those tools to help synthesize complex information. You can comfortably manipulate large datasets, create new analytical frameworks, and develop actionable insights and strategic narratives appropriate for an executive audience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to put together clear, polished, insightful recommendations for peers, managers and senior management.
• The ability to work and influence cross-functionally is a must. You are proactive, great at communicating with different audiences and can bring stakeholders on-board. You seek out and have a track record for driving change and impact in a fluid, unstructured working environment.
• You are a relationship builder with the ability to work collaboratively across the company and with people at all levels of the organization to drive regional results.
• Strong analytical abilities and able to synthesize complex information. You enjoy absorbing large amounts of data and qualitative insights and can quickly develop a strong narrative that leads to recommendations and builds our understanding of the business.
• You're very comfortable with financial modeling in Excel, and are willing to gather internal and external data points to help build a comprehensive business case.
• You're someone who possesses grit and finds creative ways to get the job done. You bring high energy and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast paced environment while balancing multiple projects.
• Experience in marketplace and/or travel and hospitality metrics is a plus.

The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
