Payroll Specialist (contract-to-hire)

Salary: $65-75K

Key Responsibilities:
- Process and administer payroll for employees on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis.
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, benefits, tax withholdings, and deductions.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees regarding pay, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Assist with payroll tax reporting, including quarterly and year-end filings (W-2s, 1099s).
- Work closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure proper benefits and payroll deductions.
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with audits, reconciliations, and process improvements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paylocity, UKG).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
