About the Role
Join a collaborative team helping municipal clients keep their water and wastewater treatment plants running smoothly. As a Mechanic-in-Training , you’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on treatment facilities, equipment, and grounds. This is a hands-on role where you’ll learn from experienced team members while building your skills and certifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, pumps, motors, and related equipment
- Lubricate equipment, inspect for malfunctions, and replace bearings, packing, and regulators
- Install, set up, and troubleshoot new equipment
- Clean and paint facilities, equipment, and buildings
- Perform basic plumbing, pipe fitting, and welding tasks as needed
- Assist with recordkeeping of maintenance activities
- Support plant operations with safe, efficient practices
- Follow all safety procedures to protect yourself and your team
Qualifications
- Experience maintaining wastewater treatment plants, utilities, or similar industrial equipment preferred
- Valid CMRT certification (or ability to obtain within 3 years of hire)
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Forklift experience a plus
- Experience working with municipal utility clients is a bonus
