Job Overview

• Schedule: Part-time, flexible schedule, approximately 3 days per week , 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
• Location: Syosset, NY
• Ideal Candidate: Detail-oriented, professional, and experienced in supporting all phases of the design process.

Responsibilities

• Project Coordination: Organizing and executing design presentations, sourcing materials (fabrics, furnishings, finishes), and general project management.
• Financial & Documentation Management: Preparing, processing, and tracking invoices and purchase orders (POs) using design management software.
• Vendor Relations: Managing follow-ups with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery and installation.
• Design Support: Assisting the designer with reviewing floor plans and project documentation .
• Communication: Serving as a professional point of contact for clients, vendors, and contractors regarding project status and logistics.
• Organization: Maintaining and organizing the studio's sample library, material binders, and project files .
• Deadline Management: Monitoring and ensuring project milestones and deadlines are consistently met.

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience working in an interior design studio or a closely related field.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience and proficiency with Design/project management software (for invoicing, POs, tracking) and floor plan/elevation prep using software like SketchUp and Revit .
• Design Knowledge: Strong understanding of floor plans and basic space planning principles .
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional correspondence.
• Highly organized, proactive, and capable of efficiently managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative, and high-end design environment.
