Job Description
Hours: 7am-3:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of residential HVAC service technicians.
- Conduct regular team meetings, safety briefings, and training sessions.
- Monitor performance, provide coaching, and conduct performance reviews.
Operational Management:
- Oversee daily service operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and work order management.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal codes and safety regulations.
- Maintain proper staffing levels to meet seasonal demand.
Customer Service:
- Handle escalated customer issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring jobs are completed on time and correctly.
- Support customer retention through service agreements and follow-up programs.
Financial & Administrative Duties:
- Monitor departmental KPIs such as revenue, profitability, and service response times.
- Approve timecards, manage overtime, and control labor costs.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for the service department.
Technical Expertise:
- Stay current with emerging HVAC technology and industry best practices.
- Provide technical support to technicians in the field when needed.
- Ensure all technicians maintain proper licensing and certifications.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of residential HVAC experience; at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems, diagnostics, and repair.
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with service dispatch software and basic Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Attributes:
- EPA Certification (Type II or Universal).
- NATE Certification.
- Experience with sales of maintenance agreements and add-on services.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
