Job Description

General Manager – High-End Restaurant (Approachable Luxury)

I’m partnering with a well-regarded hospitality group to identify an exceptional Restaurant General Manager to lead one of San Antonio’s most exciting dining rooms. This is a high-end property where luxury feels warm, welcoming, and unpretentious — a place that pairs culinary excellence with genuine hospitality.

The GM will be the driving force behind the restaurant’s culture, leading a team dedicated to delivering extraordinary guest experiences. This role requires not just strong operational skills, but also a passion for mentoring staff, shaping service standards, and building lasting guest relationships.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide hands-on leadership to ensure guests consistently enjoy an elevated yet approachable dining experience.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef, and Hotel leadership to refine both culinary and service programming.

  • Recruit, train, and inspire a team of hospitality professionals, fostering a culture of growth and empowerment.

  • Manage financial performance through careful cost controls, accurate forecasting, and thoughtful resource planning.

  • Oversee inventory and ordering for wine, beer, spirits, and supplies with an eye toward efficiency and quality.

  • Implement ongoing training programs to reinforce service standards, menu expertise, and team development.

  • Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, ensuring a secure and well-maintained operation.

  • Lead the in-room dining program, maintaining the same high standard of service as the restaurant.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews, offering feedback and guidance for both hourly and salaried employees.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A leader who is equally passionate about people, food, and guest experience.

  • 2–3+ years of management experience in a high-touch, service-driven restaurant (luxury or fine dining preferred).

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to navigate challenges with professionalism.

  • Experience with business planning, cost management, and inventory control.

  • Tech-savvy with systems like Microsoft Office, Micros POS, and OpenTable.

  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent professional experience).

  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Ability to lift 25–50 pounds as part of normal duties.

This is an incredible opportunity for a hospitality professional who thrives in a high-end environment that blends polish with warmth. If you’re ready to take on a visible leadership role with a respected brand, I’d love to connect.
