A family in Florham Park, NJ is seeking a full-time nanny. The position can be either live-in or live-out. The preferred schedule is Monday through Friday, with hours from 1:00 pm until 7:00. The family is open to the nanny running errands during midday if she is interested in additional hours.
Duties:
Duties include doing / managing the family’s laundry, grocery shopping, light housekeeping including tidying up after the children, meal preparation for the family (including father and son), accompanying the child to medical appointments, engaging in speech and occupational therapy activities, assisting with boarding and disembarking from the bus, and supervising playtime. Additionally, Mom may require support with household tasks once she returns from the hospital.
Ideal nanny:
The ideal candidate is compassionate, patient, calm, and knowledgeable about autism spectrum disorders. Since the child has high-functioning autism, experience and understanding in this area are essential. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
About the family:
This five-year-old is a sweet, affectionate, and loving child. While his verbal skills are limited, he enjoys activities such as trains, cars, coloring, and board games. He is generally easygoing, prefers routines, and enjoys being around people and playing outside. His after-school activities include speech therapy and occupational therapy.
The family environment is typically relaxed. Dad is naturally quiet, calm, laid-back, and low-key. Mom shares similar traits but is more talkative; she is relaxed, hopeful, caring, and loving. Please note Mom is currently hospitalized due to a recent incident. The family is also coping with the recent loss of their daughter.
