We are seeking a highly experienced Epic Resolute Hospital Billing Charging Lead Consultant to serve as a project advisor supporting a newly established Revenue Integrity function at a ~$1B pediatric health system undergoing a large-scale Epic implementation.
The organization is transitioning from MEDITECH and eClinicalWorks to Epic, and this consultant will play a critical leadership role in guiding charge capture strategy, design, validation, and operational readiness across the hospital billing landscape. This role is ideal for a senior-level consultant with deep technical expertise and the ability to advise executive and operational stakeholders on best practices for sustainable revenue integrity operations post go-live.
The engagement is primarily remote, with periodic onsite presence in Tennessee for key milestones such as workflow validation, integrated testing, go-live preparation, and post-live stabilization.
Serve as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor for hospital charging and revenue integrity during the Epic implementation.
Partner with hospital leadership to define, mature, and operationalize a new Revenue Integrity function .
Provide guidance on best practices for charge capture governance, monitoring, and compliance in a pediatric hospital setting.
Lead and advise on Epic Resolute Hospital Billing Charging design, configuration, and optimization.
Review and validate:
Charge Router logic
Charge capture workflows
CDM (Charge Description Master) mapping and structure
Charge interfaces and downstream billing impacts
Ensure charging workflows align with clinical operations , documentation practices, and compliance requirements.
Advise on charge capture conversion strategy from MEDITECH and eClinicalWorks to Epic.
Assist with charge mapping validation, reconciliation, and risk identification during conversion.
Identify gaps, risks, and optimization opportunities during the transition to Epic.
Support end-to-end testing efforts , including integrated testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), with a focus on charging accuracy.
Provide advisory support during go-live readiness , including command center planning and staffing considerations.
Assist with post-go-live stabilization , issue triage, and optimization recommendations related to hospital charging and revenue integrity.
Act as a trusted advisor to:
Revenue Cycle leadership
Revenue Integrity teams
Clinical operations leaders
IT and Epic application teams
Translate complex Epic charging concepts into clear guidance for executive and operational stakeholders.
Play a key advisory role in shaping a new Revenue Integrity organization at a major children’s hospital
Influence long-term charge capture accuracy, compliance, and financial performance
Work with executive leadership on a high-visibility Epic implementation

Epic Resolute Hospital Billing Charging Certification (Required)
Extensive experience supporting Epic implementations in hospital billing and revenue integrity roles
Proven expertise in:
Hospital charge capture workflows
Revenue integrity operations
CDM management and governance
Charge routing and billing compliance
Prior experience supporting large health systems (preferably pediatric or academic medical centers)
Experience transitioning from MEDITECH and/or eClinicalWorks to Epic
Strong advisory, leadership, and communication skills
Ability to work independently in a remote consulting environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams
Willingness to travel onsite to Tennessee for key project milestones
Prior experience helping establish or redesign a Revenue Integrity function
Go-live and post-go-live stabilization experience in Epic hospital billing
Familiarity with pediatric-specific charging considerations
Experience in enterprise-scale Epic implementations ($500M+ health systems)
