Job role : Cabling Technician

The Cable Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing cable television, internet, and telephone systems for residential and commercial customers. The role requires technical expertise, customer service skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to ensure reliable service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, test, and configure cable television, internet, and phone systems at customer locations.
• Perform service calls, including diagnosing and resolving issues related to signal strength, connectivity, or equipment functionality.
• Run and connect coaxial, fiber optic, and Ethernet cabling as needed.
• Mount and connect hardware such as set-top boxes, routers, modems, splitters, and amplifiers.
• Inspect and maintain cable systems to identify wear, damage, or potential hazards.
• Follow safety protocols while working on ladders, utility poles, rooftops, and confined spaces.
• Educate customers on equipment use, basic troubleshooting, and available services.
• Document work orders, service calls, and installation activities accurately.
• Collaborate with technical support teams and escalate complex issues when necessary.
• Stay updated with new technologies, equipment, and company service offerings.
