Job Description

The Franklin Butchery is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Apprentice Butchers/Butcher Assistants. In this role, you will support the head butcher with a range of tasks including meat preparation, cutting, packaging, and providing excellent service at the counter. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in developing their butchery skills and working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the head butcher with the preparation and cutting of meats to specification.
  • Package meat products for sale and ensure proper labeling and presentation.
  • Provide courteous and knowledgeable counter service to customers.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary butchery area, including equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas.
  • Follow all food safety regulations and store policies.
  • Support inventory management and restocking as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Basic butchery skills are an asset, but not required—willingness to learn is essential.
  • Customer service experience preferred; must be friendly and approachable.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work efficiently, and contribute to a team environment.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle the demands of a butchery environment.
Work Schedule
  • Full-Time Position: 40 hours per week. Specific schedule to be determined, may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
