Position Description:

The Omaha Municipal Land Bank is seeking to hire a Business Process Manager for an in-person, full-time position. This position reports to the Deputy Director and will be responsible for analyzing, designing and optimizing the operational process of the land bank. They ensure that departmental workflows are efficient, scalable and aligned with organizational strategic goals. This role bridges operations, technology, data and strategy to strengthen the land bank’s impact.

Position Details:

This is a full-time position located in Omaha, Nebraska. Compensation ranges from $60,000-$70,000 based on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package will be provided.

Duties + Responsibilities:

Process Design & Optimization

  • Map, evaluate, and improve workflows related to property acquisition, maintenance, and disposition.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to reduce costs and increase transparency.
  • Standardize procedures across departments to ensure consistency and compliance.

Technology & Data Integration

  • Implement and manage systems for property tracking, reporting, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the property database consultants to automate processes and improve data accuracy.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to monitor performance metrics.

Cross Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with real estate, planning, legal, and operations teams to align processes.
  • Facilitate communication between departments to ensure smooth property pipeline management.
  • Support leadership in strategic planning by providing process insights.

Training & Capacity Building

  • Train staff on new systems, workflows, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop manuals, guides, and resources to support consistent process execution.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, real estate or related field.
  • Professional experience in process management, operations, organizational development or related field.
  • Two years in a nonprofit leadership position.

Competency:

  • Capacity to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, goal-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with diplomacy and good judgment.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong experience in data compiling, tracking, cleaning, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with workflow automation, CRM systems or property management software.
  • Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to see the big picture.
  • Commitment to OMLB’s mission.
  • Knowledge of the Omaha community and nonprofit landscape preferred.
  • Valid Nebraska driver’s license and willingness to use personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement for reviewing properties, meetings, and collaboration with vendors.
  • Ability to attend community events or OMLB appointments outside of regular business hours.
