The SD Board of Regents has an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team as a Budget & Accounting Analyst in Pierre. This is a full-time benefit eligible position. This position plays a key role in supporting system-wide financial planning, reporting, and compliance across South Dakota’s public universities and special schools. This position is responsible for preparing and analyzing institutional budgets, conducting monthly financial reviews, and developing reports that inform strategic decision-making. It also supports capital project tracking, manages the Contracts+ database, and ensures consistent contract practices across campuses.

Ideal candidates will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience with financial systems and reporting tools. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with campus and system leadership, contribute to statewide initiatives, and help maintain the financial integrity of South Dakota’s higher education system.

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, financial management or a related field required. One to three years experience as an accounting clerk and general experience with accounting practices is preferred.

Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted. Experience with Microsoft Office products and accounting software applications. Strong writing skills for the purpose of preparing accounting reports and meeting materials is also required.
