Desert Willow is hiring again!

Desert Willow Ranch & Rescue is a sanctuary for dogs, cats, and horses. We have rescues who live on the ranch until they are adopted into their forever homes. We are looking for someone to help us care for the rescue dogs on a part-time basis. This position can also include helping care for the horses if you would like.

Job Details:

The job involves feeding and walking the dogs, engaging them in enrichment activities, loving on them, and cleaning their kennel runs. Each dog goes for at least one walk a day (unless it is storming), and the other shift of the day can be other activities with them. The dogs live in indoor-outdoor enclosures, and you will be working outside all year round. Some enrichment activities can be done in the garage. You will be covered in love and kisses from the dogs and be a part of their heartwarming stories. The rescue team you will be working with are all caring and supportive.

Experience/Requirements:

We would love someone who has experience with rescue dogs, but if not, as long as you have patience, passion, and dedication, we can teach anything.

You must be:

• 18 years or older.
• Able to walk dogs ranging from 10lbs to 80lbs.
• Able to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to walk for long durations (the dogs must be walked individually, except for the bonded pairs).
• Able to work primarily outside.

Commitment:

This job is part-time, and we are looking for someone to work about 12-20 hours a week. The pay is $14/hour.

Hours:

There are 2 shifts per day. Depending on your schedule, you could split the shifts with another staff member or you could work both shifts.

• AM Shift: 8:30-11am
• PM Shift: 3-5:30pm

*Please note that since you will be working with dogs, sometimes timing can be a bit unpredictable. The hours listed are the general shift hours, though sometimes you may work a bit longer to accommodate the pups.

We also have a group of permanent resident dogs, cats, and horses, and we have an optional opportunity for job expansion into helping caretake or petsit for them. The main job does not involve them, but the expansion is possible if you are interested.
